Can we get @TrueBloodHBO a #shortyaward!

It’s time for the second annual Shorty Awards.  And I’m nominating @TrueBloodHBO.

The Shorty Awards honor the Best Producers of short, real-time content on Twitter.  It’s about identifying and celebrating the people that help make your experience on Twitter fun and entertaining everyday.  Here’s what’s cool about the Shorties:

• It’s not a popularity contest.  You can vote for as many people in as many categories as you want.  But one tweet in one category counts as one vote.  For example, if you tweet “I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because they support fan creativity. #shortyawards” that’s your one and ONLY vote.  You can keep tweeting your nominations for @TrueBloodHBO, but it’ll only replace whatever reason you gave for voting for HBO in the first place.  Make sense?
• You can be as creative as you want to be with why you believe @TrueBloodHBO deserves a shorty.  Just make sure that your tweets include the following — #shortyawards @TrueBloodHBO @brand and your reason.  You must include a reason why you’re nominating @TrueBloodHBO or it will not count.
• The top five nominees in each Shorty Award category automatically enter the finals. Winners will be selected based on popular vote and comments based from the Shorty judges. If you’re wondering about the judges, you can find out more about them here.

Ok. Now that I’ve got the deets out of the way, I’m going to tell you why @TrueBloodHBO deserves a Shorty Award in the #brand category.  And I’m going to tell you why in 140-character tweets:

1. I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because they’re steadfast supporters of fan creativity on Twitter. #shortyawards
2. I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because they’ve actively supported fan events like True Blood on Twitter Thursday. #shortyawards
3. I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because they made a virtual blood drive into a real life benefit for the Red Cross. #shortyawards
4. I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because I believe it’s more than a just a show. #shortyawards
5. I nominate @TrueBloodHBO in #brand because they allow me to be more than just a waitress on Twitter. #shortyawards
