“Songs for Godric” WINNERS!
Okay, folks. Thanks so much for all of your song picks. I had a tough time choosing a song that captured what Sookie might be feeling the moment after Godric meets his final death in the Dallas dawn.
So without further ado, the winners are:
1) luvtheshoes: Adele, “Hometown Glory.”
The piano intro is gorgeous with a slightly haunting lilt to it which seems to go perfectly with the moment in the episode. Additionally the song lyrics talk about going to the city (Dallas) and one set of lines particularly says “Is there anything I can do for you dear? Is there anyone I can call?”
“No and thank you, please Madam. I ain’t lost, just wandering”. That really speaks to me about both Sookie and Godric both finding their own way on this Earth but not feeling lost about it. Plus, Sookie’s gesture of staying with Godric mirrors the sentiment of “Is there anything I can do for you, dear?”(And the artist’s name is Adele…just like Sookie’s gran!)
